Oliver Dobrich
What skills did you gain that you found to be advantageous from being part of the group?
I would say the main skills I got from doing research in Dr. Aiello's lab would be learning how to do data summaries, collecting/analyzing data, and learning how to conduct the experiments.
What have you been doing since you graduated?
Since I graduated I interned for a while at 'The Clinton Foundation', President Bill Clinton's Non-Profit Organization in NYC. I also began a Masters in General Psychology (M.A.) at CUNY-City College with the goal of carving out a distinct research area for me to build on and I will be finishing that degree after this coming Fall semester.
What are you doing now?
I am currently working part-time at the Student Disability Office at CUNY-CCNY and as a T.A. (Teaching Assistant) for Psychology 102, the Introductory Psychology class in addition to finishing up my coursework and starting a research thesis.
Do you have any tips for current lab members?
As for tips for current lab members, I would just say to soak it all in and learn as much as possible. Even if I.O. Psychology is not the general area you will be going into in the field the knowledge you gain from doing the research, conducting the experiments, and collecting/analyzing the data will be applicable to whatever you do after Undergrad.
