What skills did you gain that you found to be advantageous from being part of the group?
I learned how to conduct an experiment, gather data and analyze data utilizing SPSS. I strengthened my leadership skills by heading a team of 20 Psychology research assistants. The experience has helped me a great deal in my graduate studies. I recently took a class, Understanding Behavioral Research, and I was amazed at how I could apply so much of what I learned from my Senior Honors thesis to my Masters level class.
What have you been doing since you graduated?
I started my career at Lehman Brothers as a Benefits Service Center Representative and I was promoted after a year to a Human Resources Analyst position. I was interested in developing recruiting skills so, I pursued a Recruiting opportunity with the firm I currently work for. This position has enabled me to assist candidates in their job search and service clients in the financial community.
What are you doing now?
I'm an Executive Recruiter for a New York City based recruiting firm. I specifically recruit for Analysts, Associates and senior level positions at Investment Banks, Hedge Funds and other financial services firms. I am currently attending Columbia University's Masters Program in Organizational Psychology on a part-time basis. I expect to graduate in December 2003.
